Anyone here have experience with openvt? I am in X, doing root#openvt -s bash
which should allocate a vt, get me there, and start a shell. This is not happenning. All I get is a blank screen. I have tried several variations on this theme. Nothing works. Any clues? Has anyone successfully used openvt before? This would be very useful if it worked. Thanks Alex PS: I have found the graphics program that does what I was talking about earlier. The Mac program is NIH Image http://rsb.info.nih.gov/nih-image/. There is a similar java program http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/ that works on Linux.
