Howdy folks - I have installed the latest LPR and accompanying ifhp filter on several machines, but users are complaining that jobs get lost and must be submitted multiple times for actual printing to occur. I've also observed the same phenomenon myself, but I'm not sure what's actually causing the print jobs to arbitrarily disappear.
Typical /etc/printcap on these machines: lp:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp :force_localhost :lp=raw@spghp1 :ifhp=model=hp4000 :filter=/usr/libexec/filters/ifhp "checkpc -f" and "lpc reread" performed - "lpc status" reports no problems. The filter also seems to leave text on the printer display for the rest of the day like "DONE: RGILES (STDIN)" instead of the usual "POWERSAVE ON" or "READY" that would be displayed by default on an HP Laserjet 4000N/C4500DN.
