Jason I bet you know the answer to this one…
I had a strange idea the other day. I have this old 233 PPro laptop, which I run slack 8.1 on. It runs pretty nice except for XWindows is exceptionally slow, even after turning off all the extras that chew up the processor. I was thinking about setting up my other slack box, a server with dual 433 cellies, so that I can distribute the processing from my laptop over my local network. Only problem is, I don't know anything about sunrpc and other such protocols, and net searches aren't really turning up anything useful as far as how I might go about setting something like this up. Anyone have any good links or ideas to share? Is this even worth trying to set up?
Thanks, Kelly |
