System Administrator (part-time, workstudy)

Seeking undergraduate workstudy student at UT Austin to be a system administrator for a biomedical engineering research lab.

* 20 hours per week
* Up to $13.46 per hour, based on experience and year in school

Responsibilities:
* Maintaining a lab of Dell machines running Red Hat Linux and Windows XP and Mac's running OS X (about a dozen machines total)
* Installing and updating software and peripherals
* Writing scripts & programs
* Tech support for faculty and student researchers

Skills:
* Red Hat Linux administration
* Mac OS X administration
* Windows XP administration
* Oracle RDBMS administration
* cross-platform NFS
* tape drive backup systems
* shell & Perl scripting
* MATLAB
* some experience with C/C++ preferred
* some experience with image processing and AI applications preferred
* some experience with R/S-PLUS preferred
* must be courteous, responsive, proactive, & organized
* must be willing to do office work (e.g., photocopying) as needed
