Hi All, I'm a newbie to Linux and have been trying to get sound work on my box for a good time now :-) but I can't seem to get it to work. I was wondering if there's anyone out there who has the same card as me, or someone even that just knows what I might be doing wrong. I've got an Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live! sound card.
I went to http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1 and downloaded the emu10k1 package version 0.20a (sept 27,2002)compiled and installed the drivers just fine... as well as some tools that came with this specific download. I toggled the configuration to allow digital output by doing 'emu-config -d' which I figure would allow me to have my speakers to work (which work off digital out), but no... it doesn't work. All I get is this crackling sound out of the speakers when I try to play a CD so it seems like something is working... that I might just be missing a config setting or something. Anyone know what's up? I'd appreciate any help.
