Cool. I am reading the responses right now -- test about to start, so I will post replies to them this evening after I mulch some stuff over. I am eager to get a practical implementation of the pedal thing going though: this being SIGLinux, I would like to know how difficult it would be to write the USB driver modules for the pedals and a GIMP modification to process the input. Anyone here with experience hacking GIMP or the kernel? Is anyone willing to do this for fun =] I used to be able to program a little, but I suck. I will purchase the hardware necessary to work on this. To nudge you on, I am willing to convince a prof into giving you class or honors research project credit or whatever recognition if you help out, and I truly think that we can get something badass going here fairly quickly. In addition, I will put in the time necessary to learn how to draw well with this thing. I am being serious, and I really don't know who else with mad technical skill to contact about this.
