so, if it works with solaris, the below is inaccurate?  did you
try with binary emulation (i haven't kept current with sparclinux
but it used to be the case that even really complex solaris 1
binaries like netscape used to work fine under linux's emulation
thereof...dunno if it was extended in the intervening years to
do solaris 2+ as well?)
