I'm running Redhat 8 on my laptop, and I have a 3Com Megahertz ethernet

After about 30 minutes, though, eth0 loses its IP address and i have to
do a ifdown eth0/ifup eth0 to get it working again. I don't think this
is a problem with the network, because I've got a windows box sitting
right next to me that's on the same network, and its network connection
doesn't ever die. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Probably not your 3Com card or the driver - I don't think the RH
ifdown/ifup scripts actually remove and re-insert the kernel module to
re-initialize the card, but they certainly DO
try using ISC's dhclient
instead of the DHCP client you're using now.
