it was just introduced a few months ago, i doubt there are many
used ones out there.

again i can only recommend the zaurus SL-6000.  there was a review
on slashdot yesterday.  it has a functioning usb host plug which
should talk to most devices (tho i suspect you could try your
keyboard at fry's to see if it powers the thing well enough).

as i was unaware of that, i'd definitely try to test it before

you should have mentioned that you wanted a *specific* keyboard
rather than just "a keyboard".   obviously the IR suggestion
makes little sense in that context.  (i've never heard of a
(usb|ps2)->IR convertor, and while the one guy who writes zaurus
drivers for keyboards would probably be willing to implement a
driver for a new device, good luck getting one written (for you)
for palmos, etc.

it seems unlikely that the ipods have USB host capability (what most
mp3 players and PDA-type devices have is only USB client capability).
