I have Knoppix/Debian on a laptop(dell cpx), and i'm still getting
used to debian.
At install, it built /mnt/mount-pts for a number of partitions on
my 20G drive. Also, fstab has pretty sane looking lines for All of them.
But at start up, none of them are mounted, and only root can mount them(in
spite of "users" in the fstab entries). Ditto cdrom and floppy; "users" in
the fstab entry, but only root can mount.
I can su to root, mount any/all of them, and alls (rwx) well 'til
the next reboot(laptop remember, no "uptime" sport here).
It's as if fstab is never getting read? WTH?
(minor consideration; it also gives me csh on log in, i'd prefer
bash, but theres no .profile? fstab question first however...)

                                                pkl

p.s. neat distro all in all, just not the Mandrake/rpm style i'm
used to...
