Good news, this step is no longer necessary since yesterday. We now have permission from the author to redistribute the FPGA bitstream files, and they're now available from our sigrok-firmware repo: http://sigrok.org/gitweb/?p=sigrok-firmware.git;a=commitdiff;h=b2daf81ca2e892b5b80ce4bc35ff5a846853b50b Please let us know if everything works ok on your device with those files.
