Thank you for digging this up. That answer was very helpful in understanding the nature and the cause of the issue. Still it's interesting why some messages are affected while others aren't. Could not spot a pattern yet. Guess the use of mailman is appropriate, though its configuration may need checking and potential adjustment. Can't tell if mailman is "weird by default" to give warm fuzzies to unaware people with incapable mail clients. Or whether the default configuration is sane yet got dumbed down "on popular demand". > My take is to not add "[sigrok-devel]" to the subject; it's > redundant and only takes space from the subject line displayed > in my MUA. That added tag in the subject line is another thing that was introduced for those who suffer from an incapable mail client, don't know that all the information is there, and need not get injected into some other sender owned header field which should not get manipulated by tranfer agents. :( Perfectly demonstrates how slippery a slope it is to weaken tools for everybody instead of helping new users to use these tools properly. virtually yours Gerhard Sittig -- If you don't understand or are scared by any of the above ask your parents or an adult to help you. _______________________________________________ sigrok-devel mailing list sigrok-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sigrok-devel
