Screen goes black when capturing image ,when running on RHEL

Bug description:
O.S : Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64 bit)
Sikuli Version : 1.1.0
Steps followed :
1. Launch Sikuli IDE in terminal
2. Code:
from guide import *
text(image,"<text>")
show(5)
3.Result :
Screen goes black and I can't see what it is I want to capture.To get back
to normal screen i have to drag the mouse to capture an image.(some random
rectangle)
This happens for whatever code i write,the screen goes black and in certain
cases the system hangs.
