Thanks for your valuable insights. Even in these times of Web2.0 it
seems like global ecommerce is not a simple thing!
Apperantly AMEX Australia does have some kind of US$ solution via
something called AMEX VPOS - we are awaiting on AMEX to provide
further information. Furthemore they apparently send you the monies
received by cheque.
Some of the companies that may be of use to others:
1) Eway - payment gateway - v helpful but don't seem to support AMEX
AU wrt US$
2) dialectpayments.com - payment gateway - oddly seem to supply AMEX
AU with their payment systems, don't directly support AMEX AU but are
at least aware and have the ability to work with them on some level.
3) http://www.pure-commerce.com - AU based, seem to be some sort of
multi-currency processor - waiting to hear back from them.
