I’m keen to initiate discussions with the members of Silicon Beach
Australia about using the My Business brand as a vehicle through which
to communicate with the SMB market, and to raise the profile of your
organisation as an expert in Cloud computing for Australian
organisations.

The Cloud Computing feature that we’re running in the December issue
of My Business is to educate SMBs about the benefits of taking the
plunge into the cloud, but also to allay their concerns about losing
control of their data.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to raise awareness of Silicon
Beach Australia’s expertise in this area, in relation to how their IT
infrastructure can be managed more effectively in the cloud. The SMB
market is perfectly positioned to implement cloud as they are agile,
and looking for ways to grow their business without huge expenditure.
Also, unlike the top end of town, they don’t have as many stakeholders
to deal with, and can implement relatively quickly, once a decision
has been made to embrace the cloud. There is still, however, an issue
of doubt and concern about who owns their data when it is in the
cloud, amongst SMBs. Our objective with this feature is to overcome
that fear and to give our readers a realistic overview of what being
in the Cloud entails.

Here is the editorial outline:

My Business December: Cloud Computing
My Business will round out the year with a look at comprehensive look
at cloud computing and its close cousins, software-as-a-service and
platform-as-a-service.
The feature will explain the concepts behind such services (i.e; opex
vs. capex, less on-premises IT and associated management costs) before
moving on to more strategic issues such as how they deliver value to
an SME and when to adopt cloud computing over more traditional
services.
The articles will also consider issues including security, business
continuity, data domiciling and negotiating SLAs with cloud providers.
Case studies describing growing business' use of cloud services will
run alongside the feature.
Booking Deadline: 11 November
Material Deadline: 12 November

Please feel free to call me if you wish to discuss.

Many thanks
Christine
