I think wrist bands are likely to be confusing due to the strong likelihood that people might well be wearing wrist bands for other reasons, e.g. causes like breast cancer awareness or male depression or what-not.
Instead, how about something unusual that won't cause confusion with any current practice, like the placement of colored bandannas in pockets? I propose the following scheme: Potential employers should wear the bandannas on the left side, while potential employees should wear the bandannas on the right side. Those interested in high-risk startups and willing to be paid in equity could utilize black bandannas. Those seeking lawyers or offering lawyers would indicate this with dark blue. An interest in Web development would be indicated by yellow, unless PHP programming is involved, in which case the color would be brown. Those seeking or offering to be a "hustler" (ie. a non-technical co-founder) would use the color green. Light blue would be reserved for those seeking or offering venture or angel capital. Willingness to sign or offer long- term contracts would be indicated by grey. Those who are there for a range of reasons, possibly any or all of the above, would use the color orange. As a rule, these subtle signals would be something that I would recommend for all occasions, not just SB drinks. You never know when you might encounter someone interested in startups, so following this code at all times is recommended. Regards, Geoff.
