Hi Chris, Nathan,

MetaTrader only works with Forex, unless version 5 has expanding out the
types of securities that can be traded.

When I looked at Share trading years ago, the trading books often talked
about "filters", automated tools for locating shares based on set criteria.
This might be what you are after:

A lot quicker to re-use rather than re-implement. Its just a matter of
whether they are cost effective tools to use.
