Not unless you want the SEC to come down on you for jumping the gun. They are expected to release guidelines for crowd-INVESTING as compared with funding post Jan-2013. If you try to raise funds in Australia, then you have to be careful in following the ASIC guidelines for small offerings (don't think being overseas escapes their purview) ... ASSOB follows them to a T. The EU has their Prospectus Directive. Thus it is one thing to offer funders a token or access to the code, but offering them a money-making venture is a completely different set of rules. In fact kickstarter recently put in place new guidelines/cap to go back to their roots. I strongly encourage SBAustralia to maintain high standards when putting out their business to "venture" (as compared with advance on presales) ... if the development community wants to gain a reputation for credible overseas investment, then it needs to self-discipline itself otherwise it'll get tarred with same brush as Nigerian scams. This may be a component in Eliza's self-promotion, any entity that makes the cut from SBAustralia to Siliconbeach.org might be a signal that it is credible to take in outside investment beyond the 3Fs.
