For undergraduates, I would say UNSW is out in front and then there is a
series of other universities a tier below. The reason I say this is that
they win the computer security wargames between universities, and having
looked at the detail of their operating systems course, the assignments are
more "real" than other operating systems courses I've seen. For instance:
Sydney University seems to be "implement a shell", which you can do if you
have access to the API, whereas the same level course at UNSW seems to be
"implement a TCP/IP stack".

I don't really know what I am talking about but this is my superficial
impression. For what it's worth I have never attended UNSW, and I do not
have friends that have attended.
