Hi all,

Have any of you had to prepare a short but convincing sales forecast when
you are still largely pre-revenue?

How did you go about it?

I can estimate my total addressable market -- the research market, which
Esomar says is worth $32.1 billion.

But of course I'm initially targeting a small segment of that particular
market, and because I'm taking a (hopefully) disruptive approach, the
segment that I am targetting is not currently sized (or even recognised) by
organisations like Esomar.

For this reason, I think a top-down forecast will be too hard, and a
bottom-up sales forecast makes the most sense.

To that end, I can estimate my production costs per unit, marketing costs
per unit, revenue per unit and overheads if it helps.

I understand that this will inevitably be a best guess. I guess the guess
just has to be justifiable and provided in good faith.

What's worked for you?

Thanks in advance,

Steven.
