Hi Richard,

It's common when selling to a large enterprise in Australia that you'll
have to provide statements of compliance (or non-compliance) for their
security and privacy requirements. They'll then consider the risks and may
ask you to mitigate them (through encryption, etc).

Ask your hosting provider to provide a statement of compliance. It's
common. I've found Australian hosting providers happy to provide
statements of their compliance to various security and privacy requirements
as a part of doing business here.

The Privacy Act and National Privacy Principles are straight-forward as all
Australian businesses are bound by the Act and NPP. Use Australian
businesses with servers physically located and supported in Australia, and
get them to provide a statement of compliance. An enterprise client will
usually accept that they have to pay more for that privilege. OrionVM,
NineFold, Ultraserve have all been great. I have not checked whether using
AWS in Australia is as straight-forward.

Regards,
 Jeromy Evans
