Location is just one of many factors in how helpful and effective a mentor will be. Programs usually emphasise mentors with a high profile. While most of the best mentors are very successful people with a track record in startups, I think their engagement is very important. That is, do they have any time to give the startups they work with, do they take the time to learn about the startup and add deeper value than can come out of a couple of quick meetings, etc.
There was some debate on this list last year about the quality of the mentors with GRIFFIN Accelerator, I think entrepreneurs should engage with programs and make their own judgements. GRIFFIN turned out pretty well last year ; ) On Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 4:37:28 AM UTC+11, Dean Collins wrote: > > Curious how many of these mentors are based in Melbourne….? > - http://angelcube.com/mentors > > > > > > > > Regards, > > > > Dean Collins > Cognation Inc > d...@cognation.net > <javascript:>+1-212-203-4357 New York > +61-2-9016-5642 (Sydney in-dial). > +44-20-3129-6001 (London in-dial). > > > -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Silicon Beach Australia mailing list.
