I’ve just picked up a new role of a part-time Executive Director of TiE Sydney. I have seen a few events published on this list and thought that you may be interested in knowing that TiE Sydney is putting together a large number of great events this year. The range includes networking meetings, group mentoring, 1-2-1 mentoring, VIP lunches, workshops, et cetera. Everyone is welcome to the events and they are aimed at entrepreneurs. For example we just ran an event which was a workshop at the MCIC, UNSW using laser cutters and 3-D printers. Our next panel networking session will be on 2 March and is all about how companies such as LinkedIn, Uber and AirB&B are using analytics to innovate and transform themselves. Just before I go I should mention that TiE Sydney is different from any other organisations helping entrepreneurs. We are a For Impact organisation (the latest jargon meaning not for profit), we do not take any equity, specialise in Local Impact Networking, have a massive International Network and (except for a small executive) are entirely run by volunteers.
