I would guess that the bots are harvesting email addresses, and the "about" pages (taken in isolation) are meant to provide the "poor clueless student" cover for abusive behaviour (e.g. fetching the same page over and over, or composing broken requests). And if you look at litefinder.net, it seems to be just ad spam. -- ams
