Hello! I must have just received my Class X board exam results when this mailing list started. Thank you for adding me to it 28 years later, Udhay. A short introduction: I am Dhamini Ratnam, I've been a journalist since 2006, primarily in Mumbai, and with two stints (including the present one) in New Delhi. I write about gender, sexuality, art and culture. And I enjoy thinking about why things are the way they are. I used to write a column when I was in Mint called The Sex Talk, a decade ago. More recently, I have begun writing a newsletter titled Ways of Seeing, which my organisation The Hindustan Times hosts on Substack. Please do read and subscribe if conversations on culture interest you. I look forward to reading the threads and receiving tidbits of information that will spark my imagination. And, to close the loop, I'm much older than 28, but not by *that* much. And, since I know we are curious about these things, I did rather well in my exams, thank you (I came fifth in the state). It's what happened afterwards that made the real difference ...
