If an employer cannot guarantee my job for the next six months, I
can't guarantee I'll be around either. That's how the IT job market is
and we've learnt to live with it.
My personal take on this is: if I find a company's management
unprofessional, I will work at fixing this and either bring it to an
acceptable level, or get fired for trying. Neither getting along nor
quitting are an option. When I list an item in my resume, I'd rather
have a substantial paragraph.
Having spent the last half-decade working largely with early stage
startups, I should note how remarkably well Sturgeon's Revelation holds.
