I read excerpts from it, which were serialized in the local newspapers.
It is a book tainted with propaganda, but is not badly written and the
parts about the failed 1982 Airforce coup and his subsequent
incarceration and torture (which were serialized) are very interesting
at the very least from a historical point of view.

Since it is an officially commissioned biography, launched in conjunction
with his 2007 election campaign -- it is quite self aggrandizing
and contrary to what people outside might think (or as the book might
make you believe....)the man appeals to only a Luo tribal electorate.

There is also apparently a lot of stuff about his dad's political legacy
and break up with Kenyatta etc..and Raila's subsequent entry into the
mainstream, much of that is known and has been covered by others, so i
gather will be marginally interesting when compared to the the things
mentioned already....

I find it interesting that you are able to keep up with Kenyan politics
from the US.  Do you run into many Kenyans in the US?
