If you're right, and I do hope you are, I shall immediately suspend all travel and get this done, because they're going to throw the book at me for renewal. It's automatic renewal after a certain age, and I'm getting past that with the current validity. So an automatic renewal is a goodly thing, God wot.

Er IG - I've had two additional booklets to my passport so far. Each time
it has been very fast - certainly not a few weeks. A few days tops.

And these days when you get an add'l booklet they automatically extend the
validity of your passport to 10 years from the date of issue. So my
passport which I got an addl booklet for in 2005, which had an expiry date
of 2010, got a new expiry date of 2015.
