A bit OT, but --- mil jargon is fun:
- NAVY --- never again volunteer yourself (so say the Army and Air
Force)
- squared away --- organized, stowed properly, clean, etc.
- head --- toilet
- ladder --- stairway (Navy)
- FISHDO --- fuck it, shit happens, drive on
- RCI --- rectal / cranial inversion --- having one's head up
one's ass
- Leroy --- a contractor (derogatory)
- DAN --- dick, ass, nuts --- smelly (Army)
...and so on.
Note too that the jargon varies across different branches of service,
different posts and groups even down to the squad level And the list
is nearly endless... (Spent far too much of my childhood getting my
bedroom "squared away." ;-)
