There was one posthumous Nobel for Peace. It happened well after Gandhi's
assassination. Dag Hammarskjold, 1961. Of course, since he died in September
1961, he was probably alive during his nomination. But note that it's not
that you need to be alive, just that you need to collect the prize in person
come December. So if you're alive and can't make it, you're still SOL.
