For approximately 18 months every 4 years comes a period that I dread and hate from the bottom of my heart. That is the run up to the presidential elections in America. For a non American this is the most boring event in the Universe, but the American media machine dominates the airwaves - especially the airwaves of Anglophone nations and India fits right in there. If the local municipal elections in Dharwar-Hubli were given international publicty and broadcast for 18 months every 4 years - they would evoke as much bordeom as the American presidential elections do among many non Americans. But everything I read and see is giving me that sinking feeling. I am fcuked for the next 12 plus months till the new Prophet of Freedom and Democracy is anointed. shiv
