Hello Paul, and welcome to the silver list.

The larger particles produced when using salt or other electrolyte
to speed up the reaction are said by some to be less effective.
The only "heavy metal poisoning" I've read about relates to heavy use
of very concentrated SILVER SALTS or other silver compounds. They are
*known* to be toxic. These kinds of preparations are NOT what we're
talking about here!
The only complication of electrolytically made colloid of pure silver
that even seems a credible threat at all is called argyria, which is
a bluish-grey discoloration of the skin. This will not occur unless
you ingest hundreds of milligrams of silver.
The largest recommended dosages I've seen for CS are in the range of
several milligrams of silver per day. That is 100 times less than the
toxic range of several hundred milligrams. This means you would have
to take those high dosages for a hundred days to get in the same
ballpark, and *that* assumes that none of the silver is excreted.

The yellow color of properly made CS is the result of the size of the
particles and their uniform dispersal in the water. It is a function
of the light absorption of that size particle. Other materials
besides silver have a yellow phase when in colloidal suspension.
If your yellow CS contains other compounds that are toxic, you would
have had to add them somehow. If you had such high levels of
impurities in your water as to make something other than pure silver,
you wouldn't have made the clear yellow silver at all!

The truth is, there have been enough hacks and charlatains in the CS
game to give us all a bad reputation. There's no getting away from
it. But if you study a bit, and read *all* the arguments, you'll
realize the CS bashers and the commercial CS zealots are *all* being
irrational. Somewhere in the middle you'll find the truth, and
people like us who are quietly learning and succeeding with it.
Try reading the article by Peter Lindemann at the following URL:
http://www.elixa.com/silver/lindmn.htm
He has the best understanding of the CS situation that I've seen.
He's not impartial, as his company is selling a CS making unit. But
he sticks to the truth, states his opinions with supporting evidence,
and is one of the few people in the business who seems technically
literate enough not to make stupid mistakes when writing about it.
Just don't believe anybody's claims unless you can verify them
yourselves. If their assumptions are different from ours by two
orders of magnitude then they don't know what their talking about!
Good luck, Paul.
