Hi Christian, Southern Hemisphere rules isn't it. Bruce, Awesome website you have there, probably the most informative I have seen. In deed it is because of your technical discussion page that I am here on the list! I find myself echoing your findings, I feel we have travelled similar research paths, although you are obviously a much nicer person than I (CSPro). I am using a current limited system myself, I also use voltage to regulate current, I have a very versatile system. Max current <10mA max voltage 24V .I filter at 0.2micron absolute with a standard filter in a housing fabricated by moi in 316 S/S pressurised flow provided by Argon gas. I do 20L per batch and anything that can speed up the process without compromising quality is in order. Bruce, I very much look forward to discussing CS production etc with you et all in the future.
Hello Bob, and thankyou, Yes I am in the position to do legitimate testing in every way but financially. This costs big bucks, ... So little by little shall we proceed. I must say that Vasivi (head of microbiology Amdel labs N.Z.) originally planned a series of challenge tests but after a review of previous literature she decided that this was pointless as CS inhibits every microbe etc. Instead, we decided to jump straight to concentration limit testing (I cant remember the technical term). As to the testing already done unfortunately the scanned results run to 14meg per page and my ocr prog cant resolve them. You will have to accept this summary for now. Two batches were tested results same for both, except for mg/L (PPM in water) this was so that I could verify my ion specific electrode (ISE) readings against their atomic absorption (AA) tests for concentration. Batch 125 26mg/L and batch 126 20mg/L. Bioburden Testing and Validation of Test Methods to Demonstrate that the Test Specimen (Colloidal Silver) to which they are applied do not , themselves, inhibit the multiplication under the test conditions, of microorganisms that may be present as per USP 23-1995, CTFAA NOV. 1989, BP 1998.... In other words the study was carried out to determine that the media and methods used for testing the colloidal silver were appropriate for the specific sample being tested in order that any viable pathogenic or non-pathogenic microorganisms present in the sample were able to be recovered. Diluted samples of product were inoculated with separate viable cultures of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella and Candida albicans. Validation of test media - Pathogen Screen was confirmed Product Validation and Sample Results - Pathogen Screen Demonstrate that the test sample did not have any inhibitory effect on the multiplication of the inoculated pathogenic microorganisms under the test conditions as per USP23 1995 and CTFAA 1989 Both batches of colloidal silver solutions tested negative for all five pathogenic microorganisms. Validation of the Test Method - Effectiveness of Culture Media and Validity of the Counting Method in the presence and absence of the product as per BP (1998) Appendix XV1B-A243 was confirmed. The two test samples were found free from both bacteria and fungi. What this all means is: that the testing method is able to culture and recover any pathogens fungus or yeast which may be in the CS samples, which we all know could not possibly survive in CS anyway.... But these one off (thank goodness) validation test now allow any batch to be certified free of nasties by independent analysis, which I feel is important if I am to market CS and my customers are to have confidence in it. And also, we now have the foundation for investigating properly the germicidal properties of CS and document its potential uses. Whew! Also, these test results (not supposed to be reproduced except in full) if presented by someone to some other lab, should allow this step in a testing regime to be bypassed. Next set of results should be much more interesting. Watch this space! Thank you Paul, Yes you are quite right, if it works it cant be bad, and I did jump in boots and all. For that I am sorry. Although in my defence I didn't remark on CSPro's effectiveness as much as their marketing technique, scare-mongering, and scientific gobbledegook (oops there I again). Its possible that their system actually vitalises water, something that I have an interest in pursuing myself given time.As you may recognise by now my marketing technique is slightly different, I figure I should practice what I preach and reckon if everybody did that, well... I look forward reading of your impressions of the difference between LVDC and HVAC CS By the way, spring is emerging between the squalls down here and things are looking up. Hi Deb, This is so sudden. Yes, come to NZ. Rachael my five year old (on Wednesday) is really looking forward to meeting you. Can you cook? ; ) Seriously, if you or any lister wants to visit that would be great! Well off to bed now. Best wishes to you all. Ivan
