Hi Ted and list,
The little cartons of milk and juices are irradiated after they have
been sealed. They remain sterile until opened. I have been to the
irradiation plants in person at Mexico City and Manila Phillippines.
There has been much discussion about the safety of irradiated foods . It
is not permitted in the US yet, but after the hamburger contamination
flap last year some pilot projects are in operation in this
country.Irradiated products can be stored almost indefinitely with out
refrigeration.Of course they have to be sealed so as not to be
recontaminated or exposed to pathogens.I have drank alot of that milk
and juice when I`m traveling overseas.
    Bless you Bob Lee
