Hi Douglas and list. Douglas asked how long the distiller activated charcoal filter will last and if boiling it will help? The life of the filter will depend on how much water goes thru it and the quality of the water. Most Filters are used to remove odors (ph unbalance) and should be changed when they don`t remove odors any more. Used with a distiller they are for removing ions ( neutralizing ion charges--i.e. ph balance) created by the distilling process. Use your TDS meter to let you know if its not doing this any more. The distilled water should be 001ppm if filter is neutralizing ok . Of course this assumes the distiller is working ok. Never heard of boiling a filter(charcoal that is),should not make any difference to the filter that I can see. The water going thru it is already clean and sterile. Myself, I change them every three or four months, ready or not.
