Just had my first session ever with a Chiropractor on Friday afternoon. My back went into spasms Wednesday morning and again on Friday morning. The first "attack" practically bent me double. The pain radiated out from the middle of my back and around the sides of my rib cage, making breathing difficult. Friday's session was triggered by reaching for a Tupperware container on a cupboard shelf over my head. They really ought to put warning labels on Tupperware!! <g>
I've had these kinds of episodes several times. It always takes a couple of weeks to get back to normal. This time it was to the point I couldn't lift my arms above eye level at all without pain. Anyway, during the initial interview, the Dr. was reviewing and augmenting the history form and asked about recent illness. I told him I had a regular history of upper respiratory ailments and strep and that I had pneumonia last Christmas. I said I had been taking Colloidal Silver and had had a very good year. He responded with a nod and a hearty "Good for you!" How's that for somebody who answers to the honorific Doctor!? It was pleasant to hear. I recieved an adjustment, and *BOY* did my back and neck yield some interesting sounds and sensations. Little or no pain, although the feeling is quite strange. There is some lingering tenderness and small pains, but *nothing* like what I walked in there with. I feel quite energetic, and spent a very busy Saturday and Sunday, still being cautious of my movements, but not having to limit my activities in any way. This morning I went down into the shop and continued with sanding a cabinet I'm making. Despite lifting the workpiece and handling the sander, my back is still doing well. I have a follow up visit this afternoon. I'm going to have to report it as a success! I'm impressed. Be well, Mike D.
