Maybe it kills gut bacteria in the tick that it needs to digest the blood. I'm hypothesizing here, obviously... I'd like to get more anectodal reports on this (either confirming or debunking) because it's possible it's just wishful thinking on my Dad's part. But if it's true, it would certainly be good for people who live in tick-infested areas to know.
