For an inside view of the state of medicine in the UK, you might look

he is a general practitional, I think, and is dismayed at the way the
Blair admin is dismantling the practice of medicine to contain costs,
since it is free at point of entry.
This is especially pertinent since Moore's new film is coming out
"Sicko", documenting the laspes of the health care management here in
the US.

Anyone who thinks that 'socialized medicine' (aka one person forcing -
at GUNPOINT - someone ELSE to pay for THEIR idea of 'health care') is
better than free enterprise will get what they ask for - which is
precisely what is happening in the UK.
The problem - at least here in the US - is not lack of 'free access',
the problem is the fascist model of healthcare - that is, the FORCED (at
GUNPOINT) model of slash, burn and poison. The solution? Simple...
1. Outlaw any/all 'conflict-of-interest' relationships with respect to
pharmaceutical companies, health insurance carriers, and government
regulatory agencies.
2. Make any violation of said law punishable by DEATH.
Yes, I said DEATH. Why so severe? Take a look around at the pain,
suffering and DEATH CAUSED BY THESE BASTARDIZED RELATIONSHIPS!!
And once you understand the true extent of the conflicts of interest
that these three entity groups engage in, you will understand why such a
simple change *would* *work*.
