You may be interested to know that the government of Japan has just
doubled the number of HepC sufferers who are eligible for Interferon
treatments. Many contracted the disease through infected blood
product transfusions. I realize that Interferon is not an option for
many people, but I thought it might be useful to know what the
"mainstream" is in Japan.

I have 1A, viral load almost 12 million (I'd like to know about people
who
have had success with this high a load - all of the testimonials I've
seen
are from folks with much lower loads). AST, ALT and ALK are hanging
out in
the 175 - 200 range and have been for a couple years. They've been
over 100
for 7 or 8 years. Platelets are about 80. RBC and WBC run slightly
low.
