One can virtually check it with the naked eye.
I use a simple LED to reject water.
You can measure EC or use a PWT meter, most of which claim to be a ppm
indication.
But a guess at that. No ppm meter exists, period. Even if they are
calibrated in ppm, they are not.
A new Industry standard may simplify things a bit but will still be a
compromise.
