The thing is that by isolating certain substances and taking them out of
their 'natural' state, they are discovering that this is not such a good
thing. Natural herbs, veg etc. have so many different ingredients all
working in harmony and without just one, the whole chemical reaction
changes. Scientists are discovering this Ode.

No argument with that, but it's not a black and white issue either.
Neither is all good or all bad.
The Pharm industry extracts quite a few natural ingredients from plant
matter.
The herbal remedy field also refines plant matter by making tinctures and
teas to remove various toxins in natural herbs with the appropriate
solvents as well.
A few are quite dangerous if not processed properly and used with caution.
There are many similarities between the two.
In China, people pee into vats and the dried urine is rolled into little
balls for the hormones.
In South America, women pee into jars for the extraction of hormones in a
North American lab.
On the one hand, the dried pee soup may have other beneficial elements.
On the other hand, there are also undesirable elements that could be removed.
"Scientists are discovering this" is a positive sign that shows concern for
better products to counter the "We do what we can with the technology we
have" end of that same deal.
It took thousands of years of consequences for the herbal masters to
develop methods that are relatively safe and "science" is on the same quest
with less guess work, generally starting with the same plants.
You have heard of preserving the rain forests as a potential new remedy
mine?? Whos words are those?
The local "Witch Doctors" are quite often consulted by scientists.
Neither are perfect.
Neither knows everything.
Neither are "evil"
You may note that the commercialized distributors of BOTH technologies are
expensive and rake in the cash...but one side of that coin can say just
about anything to sell the product and doesn't even have to keep track of
sources or what batch went into what bottle, while the other has to back
it up with a whole lot of testing and extremely meticulous and costly
record keeping.
If you've ever looked into the cost of "product insurance", you'll see that
it's not all profit on either side.
Both industries get their pants sued off on a regular basis allowing a
third party to rake in cash that EVERY buyer pays.
I am neither for or against either one, both have their strong and weak points.
If you want to live back in the 1800s where cancer got you a bottle of
Laudanum and a horse ride home, go right ahead.
The "hospital" route can be more of a pain than the disease...or not.
There are decent reasons to go either way.
If it comes down to it, I may decide on the "bottle and the bronk"
myself...go on home and see if there's anything "else" I can do, that
includes any **third alternatives**, like maybe Reiki. [Which is, what IT is ]
Vilifying one doesn't make the other any better, they both *are what they are*
It's YOU that decides which is better in YOUR situation and lives and dies
by that decision.
Listening to finger pointers of any stripe just allows you to not make your
own decisions and hold someone else responsible for what you never bothered
to do.
That's *chicken sh&t whine baby tantrum* stuff.
Is that finger even on your own hand? Thought not.
AND, it's ANOTHER thing that YOU decided to do, that being....Hold yourself
helpless by letting someone else decide so you could blame *them* if they
turn out to be wrong.
But you see, there is nothing in this world BUT relative wrong ....and no
absolute *right*... anywhere.
Children get treated like children in spite of assertions "I am TOO, grown
up!!"
Well, allrighty then. ACT like it.
..a risky business.
..and then ya die anyhow.... but did you live "your" life?
I gotta tell ya. I have a deal of respect for the live fast and die young
crowd.
Suck your demise out of a bottle of booze without complaint? That takes
a certain amount of guts. [Gotta have some to pickle em yerself.]
But "I'm a wino because they..." only deserves a bullet in the head.
[Here, let me put you out of the misery you handed me.]
There's a big difference between jumping off a cliff, flying for a minute
or two and claiming to be pushed off it, screaming all the way down.
While both get flat, only one has some degree of "class".
