The aorta artery is one of the main vavles of your heart, not your belly button. Faith G.

The bit that said that was in a quote from an article. I don't know much about abdominal surgery, but they get some nasty surprises when they have to open up, I understand. This is just from surgeon friends talking to me. There are some good atlases of the body on line that would demonstrate where things go. And how far beneath or under the belly button might come into the equation of what goes where and how far down the light penetrates. But as for knowing - no, I am ignorant, I just listen and read, and mostly accept what sounds correct. R Rowena, how do you know the aorta artery is behind the belly button? When they do laser surgery inside the abdomen, often they go through the belly button. Wouldn't that interfere with the artery? Thx. Jess
