Hey Folks; If you will, I'd like to hear from you Brits, and others, regarding your experience with societal funding/taxing for 'Free health care' and overseen by your reprehensive [?] governments. I know this is OT and also think it may be of interest to many on the list as the U.S. is being... Opps, I almost gave my opinion. I'm sure Mike will pull the plug on this one when it becomes opinion rather than one's experience. larry tankersley; Gainesville,Florida USA
Larry,
I don't know if you want info re Canada? I do not have personal direct experience, but have a good friend in Canada with many of the same health issues I have. The care she receives vs her cost is amazing. When I tell her how I have to fight for the care she gets, and what I have to pay for insurance, she is just flabbergasted. I do know some Canadians are less happy about their system, but my friend gets good care, quickly. 4 week wait for a specialist, vs the 6 months I had to wait in the western U.S. Basically, she is getting treated, I'm not. Though I'm the one paying the huge insurance premiums. This doesn't seem right, now does it?
