I use 3mm, (think that's around 8-10 gauge?), diameter rods. Actually if
someone could let me know exactly what 'gauge' this is I would appreciate
it.

Just a little heads up on this. Looking at the CC silver website, the only
silver wire that they have in 10 gauge is sterling silver which is only
925
and not suitable for making colloidal silver. To my knowledge, the only
source of 10 gauge 9999 silver wire is atlasnova.com. It also comes with a
certificate of analysis which shows it to be 99997.
