Nevermind. Apparently the source I got the info from for below was inaccurate. Only 1.2 % of the copper is replaced with germanium. No go.

At the voltages we use would you even get ionic germanium or would the germanium drop off the electrode as a sediment? Could the germanium prevent the silver from going into solution?
