Listerine? Yuck! Sorry... I've heard cornstarch sprinkled over the HotSpot
usually does the trick and is more natural than listerine. Instead of
listerine, before I heard of the cornstarch, I had used Hazel water. I
forgot what its called, but I'm sure you k now what I mean :-)

We used to have to deal with hotspots in the past as well. It was horrible!
Seems like they would pop up out of nowhere, and no vet could ever convince
me, that it was a bacterial infection caused by maybe a pointy grain or
seedling. If that were the case, then my dogs should have a million of them
spread throughout their bodies, cause they will run through thick brush and
all... I think they might be caused by the vaccines. I'll have to wait up
and see with my new dogs that have been minimally vaxed by their breeder,
which is only once :-)
My older dog, Sheldon the Sheltie, soon to be 9yrs old, is another story.
She's been vaxed more than I'd like to admit, but not regularly :-( She has
had many skin problems. She was or might still be having one now. CS did not
work... It helps in linder the pain some, but I haven't found the real
culprit, nor the remedy. I feed them raw, and add all sorts of herbs, but
nothing seems to help.

So sorry to write so much about dogs... can anyone suggest a good healthy
holistic dog group maybe?
