Steve, Many people will tell you not to use magnets in the head. I have migraines myself albeit infrequently, but I do take care of them with a "rosary" of magnetic beads I made it myself with 800 gauss beads strung in fishing line and separated by ceramic (or glass) beads every 1-2 inches. The rosary is 20 inches long and if the migraine is local I lumped it up (multiplying its effect) in the area and if general, I wrap it around the head at the temples. I have suggested the same therapy to many of my clients after we exhaust all other remedies and it always have some beneficial effect. Some people are more refractive to magentic penetration than others. Go on the Net and find sources for magnetic beads 800 gaussx 8 mm. long and do the thingy yourself for a pitance. They last about ten years under normal use. Good luck, PS I would make sure that your wife is not suffering from hyoertension and that she takes 400-800 mg of magnesium daily. Remember also that stress kills! ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Wednesday, December 09, 2009 12:55 PM Subject: CS>Magnets Migraines and Madness
I'm interested in whatever you may have as far as good info re magnet therapy. Any chance this could help my wife's migraines? We're pretty desperate, and my wife has begun to lose ANY hope for improvement. Madness has nothing to do with this post - I just liked the sound of three words in the title that began with M. Iam a practicing ND and find certain magnets of great benefit. There is quite a bit of good science behind the therapy. best regards Frank ND ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve To: silver-list Sent: Wednesday, December 09, 2009 12:33 PM Subject: CS>Bloodstone and Hematite Personally, I am extremely dubious of the benefits of wearing any mineral. However, hematite is not the same stone as bloodstone. Bloodstone is green jasper with bright spots of iron oxide and very pretty. Hematite is pure iron oxide, Fe2O3. So perhaps bloodstone could be confused with hematite since it does seem to have tiny spots of iron oxide in it? Now if you're talking about magnets and magnet therapy, I used to be totally in disbelief that it could do a thing. Nowadays, I'm open to the possibility that it may be helpful in circulation, and maybe in other things. I just don't know, would be nice though.
