Hi JoAnne -- I see you made your way here!! :-) Welcome. Purchasing Colloidal Silver is extraordinarily expensive -- commonly running thirty or so dollars for 8 oz. It just isn't practical to buy it for treating horses. I would venture to guess that 99.9% of the people on this list make their own -- a very simple thing to do -- and once you have purchased your generator (a small counter-top device), your only other expense would be the price of a gallon of distilled water as needed.
There are several good quality CS generators on the market. Mine is a Colloid Master from Synergenesis (www.wishgranted.com). Also, one of our list members makes and sells them -- Ode, are you here? Other list members may make other suggestions for generators they've been happy with. You can't go wrong with any of them. If you have any other questions, just ask -- it's what we're here for!
