Wool... comes from sheep. Lanolin is made from the oils produced by the
sebaceous glands in the skin of the sheep.

As far a I know it is a substance closest to that which our skin
secretes.
But some people are allergic to it and have to avoid it. That doesn't
make it bad, IMHO.
