I don't know where anyone got the notion of a blood-brain barrier. The blood circulates through the brain the same as it does through the rest of the body, up the carotid artery and back through the jugular vein. There is a separation between the spinal fluid and the blood, but it is semipermeable and is easily penetrated by viruses, bacteria, vitamins, minerals, drugs, etc. There is no barrier. The brain and the body are one.
